Industrial Light Fittings and Street Light Poles Corrosion Problems

Industrial Plant illumination Problem

The light fittings and street light poles too were victims of external corrosion and demanded excessive maintenance efforts.                                                                         

Solution

The below-given steps eliminated the entire problems:

1. Substitute the metallic lighting fixtures with FRP fixtures assembled with threads greased SS screws
2. Substitute energy wasting and short lives incandescent lamps with energy saving long life mercury vapor lamps, sodium vapor lamps etc.
3. PVC chain-suspend incandescent lamps – inevitable in vibrating machines areas. The pipe suspensions transmit the structure shakes to the lamps; but chains do not. Hence, the lamps would last longer

Replace corrosion end of lives steel poles with concrete poles. Most plants’ crew can develop designs and make these. Initial costs are lower and no periodic painting saves still more.
