Moisture Analyzer Start-up Procedure
START UP PROCEDURE FOR AMETEK MAKE MOISTURE ANALYSER (MODEL 3050).
- Flush the sample line for some time.
- Switch ON the power supply to the heat tracing line and heated pressure regulator. Allow it to heat for 15-20 minutes.
- Start the sample to the analyzer. Sample pressure should be between 20 and 50 psi. Set the sample pressure to 40 psi (approx 2.5 bar) with a heated pressure regulator. Open the ball valve on the sample conditioning system.
- Open the cover of the analyzer and open the dryer valve (green color) 50-60%.
- Power ON the analyzer. NOTE THAT THE ANALYSER SHOULD NOT BE KEPT ON WITHOUT A SAMPLE. RUNNING ANALYSE WITHOUT A SAMPLE WILL CAUSE FAILURE IN ELECTRONIC CARDS OR SENSOR.
- Set the backpressure regulator to 5 to 10 psi.
- Keep the drain valve of the analyzer crack open.
- Check at the analyzer vent that there should be no backpressure from the flare line.
- At the analyzer end, there are only LED indications. To check the status of the analyzer, a laptop is required with a communication cable having 9 9-pin male at one end and a 9-pin female at the other end. The laptop should have the 3050-configurator software installed.
- Connect the laptop and start the 3050-configurator software. Check in the STATUS menu for any alarms. Initially, flow and temperature alarms will be there. Check that the flow should not be 0 sccm. Some flow should be there, which will stabilize within 30 minutes. For temperature stabilization, it will take 2 to 3 hours.
- Â Allow the analyzer to stabilize for 24 hours.
- Then run the verification cycle and, if required, calibrate the analyzer.
- ANALYSER SHOULD NOT BE IN LINE IF THE MOISTURE CONCENTRATION OF THE SAMPLE IS HIGH. OTHERWISE, IT WILL TAKE TIME TO DRY DOWN, AND ALSO the DRYER WILL BE CONSUMED FAST.
Moisture Analyzer Shutdown Procedure
SHUTDOWN PROCEDURE FOR AMETEK MAKE MOISTURE ANALYSER (MODEL 3050)
- Close the sample main isolation valve.
- Allow the sample to flush out from the analyzer (sample pressure should read 0 psi).
- Switch OFF the analyzer.
- Close the ball valve on the sample conditioning system.
- Close the dryer valve (green valve) inside the analyzer.
- If it is a long shutdown, then switch OFF the power supply to the heat trace line and the heated pressure regulator.
