Security is a very critical task in important applications and areas. If the security is weak, then anyone can hack your network / hamper your process and destroy the whole system. So, it is necessary to keep an eye on the systems for securing them properly. Be it automation or any normal area in building premises, many next-generation security surveillance systems have cropped up to secure the systems properly.

In this post, we will have a look at the various next-generation security surveillance systems.

Smart Camera Box

AI Technology in Video Surveillance

A smart camera box is a system which uses cameras along with speaker systems in it. Let us extend the use of a CCTV camera in an area prohibited from entry. CCTV cameras will just monitor your area and give you video footage continuously. But, in a smart camera box, apart from video recording, it will also trigger a speaker in case of a miscreant entry.

Basically, it is defined inside to sense a clear area. If in this area, it senses some object, then it will create an audio alarm through the speaker and give a loud alert or warning. It will threaten the miscreant to get ready for some strict action. This can make the miscreant run away with fear. This makes the smart camera box a very important tool for securing the environment.

Due to its strict security requirement, it must be connected to a strong network thus. For this reason, Ethernet or Optical fibre is used; as TCP/IP is a global standard and interfaces with cybersecurity features easily. Strong networking is therefore required for making a smart camera box run successfully.

Cameras nowadays are equipped with artificial intelligence in it. If you just see a high-end smartphone, you will find that almost all the colour filtering, enhancement and other features are done by artificial intelligence inside the processor.

This, when extended to high-end security devices taking videos and photos; provides a very highly secured surveillance system. There will not be any need to send large-size data to cloud computing for processing; instead, the AI tools will do the job locally inside the processor. This saves time and also increases efficiency.

Next-Generation Security Surveillance Systems

Let us take this technology to the next level. AI technology can analyse human behaviour patterns moving around a critical area. When it sees any abnormal movement in this case, it can alert the operator and save it from any damage. This eliminates the need for any extra processing or coding inside the security system. It can also study this pattern by a heat wave or thermal wave radiation.

If a certain set of people are usually concentrated in an area, then its heat wave calculation from the personnel will be considered normal. But, if some extraordinary heat wave is found in some other area, then AI will detect that pattern and try to warn the operator about any threat looming around.

This AI technology, apart from human behaviour, can also study the patterns of vehicles roaming around. Any unexpected traffic or vehicle pattern in an area can make it alert the operator.

Also, nowadays due to advanced technology in messaging or mailing, instant data from the security systems can be transferred to the respective personnel. Due to this, an operator sitting at a very far location too can get intimated about any security threat in that area. Due to local processing, bandwidth and data usage are reduced to a great extent.

The reaction time from the security systems will be so quick that there will be little chance for the miscreant to do any mishap. Also, the quality of images and videos in such high-end systems are of such a high pixel, that the streaming and viewing become easier to troubleshoot and identify.
