Maintenance Process - Safety Instrumented System (SIS)
When plant facilities having Safety Instrumented System goes into operation, Maintenance has three primary responsibilities: 1.Perform SIS related proof-testing. 2. Define the frequency of SIS components to be proof-tested. 3. Perform SIS repairs as needed. This is to ensure time up to which a sensor in a multiple configuration can be allowed to stay out of service. Normally this shouldn’t exceed twice the scheduled frequency, otherwise higher level management authorization is required. #instrumentation #maintenance #testing Tags: safety instrumented system, functional safety, safety instrumented function, oil and gas, safety integrity level, basic process control system, process control, process safety, safety instrumented systems, safety plc, safety instrumented systems training, maintenance, testing, valve testing, instrument testing, valves maintenance, instrument maintenance, instrument maintenance work, safety system, process instrumentation, instrumentation maintenance, logic solver, automation
